Important note: the information below is not applicable to general complaints, which consist of an expression of dissatisfaction about the standard of the service, products, actions, or lack of action by the Shire or its contractors. Minor Breach Complaints
An Elected Member commits a minor breach if he or she contravenes the Local Government Act (Rules of Conduct) Regulations 2007.

How to Lodge a Minor Breach Complaint
A minor breach complaint must be lodged with the Local Government Standards Panel for determination in accordance with the Local Government Act 1995. For more information on the minor breach system, visit the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ website.
Behavioural Breach Complaints
An Elected Member commits a behavioural breach if he or she contravenes the Shire of Merredin Code of Conduct for Council Members, Committee Members and Candidates (see below).
