Congratulations to Councillor Donna Crook, who was elected unopposed to the role of Shire President at the Special Council Meeting held on 10 September 2024.

Councillor Crook will serve the remainder of the Shire President term, which is due to expire in October 2025.

Thank you to outgoing President Mark McKenzie for his outstanding leadership and service during his tenure.

My family are 4th generation farmers in Merredin. We have 2 adult children. My son and his family are a part of the family business and reside locally. 

I am employed as a Senior Project Officer with the Department of Finance. 

I am passionate and committed to Merredin. Over the years I have been involved in a wide variety of community organisations including school P&Cs, local sporting clubs, aged care, St John Ambulance, and an elected member. This has given me an insight into the wants, needs and expectations of the community.
