The Shire of Merredin has commenced roadworks along Crooks Road as part of a two-stage project to improve safety and accessibility.
Stage one involves earthworks and stabilising the road base to enhance its structural integrity. This will be followed by stage two, where a new asphalt surface will be applied, providing a smoother, wider, and more durable roadway.
While there are currently no traffic delays, motorists are advised that major disruptions are expected as construction progresses. The Shire appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during these important upgrades.
This project is proudly funded by the Australian Government’s Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program and the WA State Government’s Regional Road Group. Works are expected to be completed by June 2025, delivering safer and more reliable infrastructure for the region.
