Councillors recently conducted an inspection of the Water Tower to review ongoing works. Contractors are currently in the process of stitching and sealing cracks to enhance the structural integrity and ensure the safety of the tank. These works are on schedule for completion by the end of March 2025.
In addition, the Shire has formally written to the Heritage Council seeking approval to commence the painting phase of the project. Once permission is granted, this important next step will proceed.
We remain committed to preserving this iconic piece of Merredin’s heritage and thank the community for their ongoing support as we work towards its restoration. Further updates will be provided as the project progresses.
